“Percide!” I heard someone yell.

“Heh?”

The door whipped open and slammed into the wall. 

“Eh- My wall…”

“Percide!” Yelled Goldwill.

“What is it…?”

“There are protesters outside! They are complaining about the prices of your items… again…”

Such a hassle.

“Lead me to them.”

As we walked I looked out the window, a giant line of people stood at the gates to the estate.

I walked outside and down the long steps to the manor…

Why would anyone want this many stairs?

“There’s that cheap merchant!”

“Hey!”

“What the hell’s with your prices!”

“Make your stock cheaper!”

There were a lot of people cursing me out.

Though the actual me did nothing wrong. If anything I did nothing.

“Calm down.”

I tried being reasonable with them.

“Why the hell should we listen to you!”

“Yeah!”

“Let us in!”

“Lower your prices!”

They continued to curse me out and obviously I wasn’t very happy about it.

||SPELL CREATION||

I made the gears fit in my palm as I crushed them.

“Vocalize.” I whispered.

“I SAID SHUT THE FUCK UP!” my voice echoed throughout the area.

“Agh, my ears!”

“Ugh what the hell?”

“Ouch… I can’t hear!”

[Vocalize] was a spell that modified my voice as I saw fit. In this case, I used it like an amplified megaphone.

“Listen. I hear all of your concerns. I was in an accident somewhat recently and I have no recollection of anything that happened before the last week and a half.” 

“You there. What’s the current price for a piece of bread?”

“Huh. Me? Uhhh for a piece of bread it’s fourteen Zenite.”

“Goldwill, how does currency work from bottom to top?”

“Well it starts with Copper coins, then one hundred Copper coins is one Zenite coin, then one hundred Zenite coins is one Silver coin, one hundred Silver coins is one Octite coin, then one hundred Octite coins is one Gold coin, and one hundred Gold coins is one Platinum coin.”

“Alright, so what is the average wage for a common worker per week?”

“Hmm… maybe fifty to sixty Copper coins? And that would be for a relatively good job.”

Wha- fifty to sixty Copper?! And a piece of bread costs fourteen Zenite coins which is…

One thousand four hundred Copper coins?!

“Isn’t the bread… really over priced…?”

“Hmm… yes, but you said to make it that way.”

I facepalmed.

“Listen up everyone, from today on a piece of bread costs twenty Copper coins. Adjust everything accordingly please.”

“Heh. Really?”

“He actually lowered it?!”

“Wha- I can afford bread now…”

“Yeah! Let’s go!”

“Thank you!”

I turned around and started walking back inside.

It kinda feels nice being the good guy. Too bad I don’t care much for the role.

Once I was back in my room I made a body double of Percide sleeping. Today was important, after all I was taking Esther on a surprise outing! I had to get everything set up.

This time won’t be like our other outings though. I’m making it from scratch. Which sounds bad, I know. However, I’m giving her a taste of a modern-day ‘date’! 

Hmm…

I’m going to need to absorb some more things…

To the forest I go!

Plus I always have an excuse to use chainsaws.

||CHAINSAW||

The chainsaws formed around my arms, the chains linking with the sharp blades as they formed. I began full sprinting as I sliced through every tree in my path. The trees around me collapsing as I spun around.

“It’s time to try something new again.”

I threw my arm forward releasing and forming a whole chainsaw blade.

It cut a straight line directly through the forest.

I ran deeper into the forest.

“Now let’s recall it~”

||EXPANSION||

I held my right arm out.

The blade grew four times its original size before completely flipping around. It then started coming toward me at a fast pace.

“Three… two… one… NOW!”

I jumped.

The blade went flying on the opposite side of where it came from.

I then built up some of my slime in my hand and formed it in the shape of a rope. I threw the end of the rope out toward the blade and linked them together.

I landed on the ground and started spinning in circles pulling the rope, which moved the chainsaw blade. The entire forest area around me being decimated within a few seconds. 

I recalled all my excess slime back to my body.

||ABSORB||

I then started absorbing the whole forest that I just took down. All the logs, leaves, and anything else in the way of my open area.

“Phew… that was a large area… but now I can make that thing for Esther!”

I then immediately released a massive amount of slime and started constructing my secret ‘date’. I mean it wasn’t really a date, but we don’t have to be technical here.

Knock Knock Knock

“Hmm?”

“Who’s at my door?”

She opened it.

“Hey!”

“Cyn?!”

“I have a little surprise for you Esther~”

“Surprise…?”

“Uh, let me get ready quickly.”

She came back with a cute blue shirt, a blue skirt to go along with it, black stockings, black shoes, a black ribbon tying her hair into a sideways ponytail, and a white scarf.

“You look great Esther.”

She pulled her scarf up over her mouth slightly.

“Thank you…” she mumbled.

“Shall we go then?”

“Mhm.”

We walked outside and then I swiftly swept her off her feet and into a bridal carry again.

“Wait- Cyn…”

“It’s a bit far and the view of the city from the sky is nice.”

I got ready to jump which made Esther hold on to me tightly.

“Esther?”

“Y-y-yeah…”

“We’re here~”

She opened her eyes.

In front of her was a bunch of unfamiliar buildings made of what looked like metal and wood. There were glowing lights of different colors and lots of items she had never seen. There was even food in some places…

“Woah…”

I put her down. 

“So what do you want to do first?”

“Um… could you pick?”

“Then let’s start over here~”

I took her throughout the carnival that I made. We did a rollercoaster, a boat ride, ate sweets together, and did some other things. Just to clarify. The sweets I bought from a shop, the rest was made from my slime and controlled by me. I’d like to call that pretty skillful~

Then finally we reached the Ferris wheel.

“This thing is massive…”

“It’s from my world. It’s called a Ferris wheel.”

I hopped into one of the carts and patted next to me.

“Here.”

She sat down.

I then started making the Ferris wheel move. It slowly started to spin us in a clockwise direction.

“W-wow…”

She looked out the window. 

“Everything is getting so small…”

We were almost at the top when I gently leaned in close to her. She felt my breath against her neck as I whispered.

“Thanks for trusting me Esther.”

“Huh-“

She began blushing.

Her face was a mixed red from the cold air and the situation.

“Y-yeah no problem…”

She turned and hesitantly but quickly buried her face against my chest for a few minutes.

The air was a little cold… but she was warm enough.

When she looked up.

I had fallen dead asleep, my head rested back against the glass as the ferris wheel stopped moving.

“You must have overworked yourself doing this… thank you.” She smiled at me before reaching up and kissing my cheek lightly.

She sat back down with a light pink face and started chanting a spell.

“Points that connect across the world, gates form around me and allow access. Greater magic, Teleport.” 

Esther teleported both of us into her house. She laid me down in her bed and got changed into a nightgown. She then laid next to me and grabbed my arm.

“Goodnight Cyn~” she smiled warmly at me before cuddling up to my arm and falling asleep.

I opened my eyes.

Within the last two weeks of my life…

I’ve woken up to a lot of different things above me.

A forest, the sky, Percide’s ceiling, Esther’s face…

However, the roof above me was different again.

I felt something warm on the left side of my body.

“Hmm?”

Whatever it was, was under the covers and holding my left arm.

I looked around the room.

This wasn’t anywhere I had been before…

Where did I fall asleep?

Hmm…

Uuuuhhhh…

Ehhh…

Don’t know. 

I shrugged it off and looked back toward my left arm. I grabbed the covers and pulled them back a little.

…

“The fuck?”

Esther was sleeping next to me in a white nightgown.

My face began to turn slightly red.

I- I had slept with Esther and I don’t remember anything about how our outing ended yesterday. The last thing I remembered was us in the Ferris Wheel.

Shock overcame me.

I looked down at my right hand…

“No way… right?”

Esther’s eyes began to flutter open.

She sat up propping herself with her right arm and wiping her eyes with her left.

“Huh-?”

“Cyn…”

She hugged my arm lightly.

“Mmm… thank you-”

“Heh-“

Did I really do it?!

I can’t remember shit!

“H-hey Esther?”

She yawned for a second before responding.

“Yeah…?”

“Wh-what happened last night?” I said nervously.

“Hmm… you fell asleep… on the Ferris wheel… and I…”

She yawned again.

“And you…?”

“And I… teleported you here to sleep…”

“So nothing happened?”

“Hm? What?”

She seemed to have woken up a little more as she looked into my eyes. She sat up on her own and tilted her head slightly.

“No no nothing… haha-”

I grabbed my chest.

Thank god I didn’t do anything.

My heart was pounding for a second there.

Wait…

But I don’t have a heart?

That doesn’t make sense…

Is it just a feeling then, or do I have a heart and it just doesn’t matter?

I got up and stretched.

“Hey Esther, I’m going to go out for a bit.”

“Hm? Alright… I’m going back to sleep… bye bye~”

Ah- Let me make her this real quick.

||FORM SHIFT||

I built up a bit of slime and formed it in the shape of a teddy bear. While making the carnival I learned how to manipulate my slime to take on materialistic forms like metal and wood. Which also means the soft feeling of fur for a stuffed animal.

I made quite a large one so I struggled for a second as I placed it next to her in bed. She grabbed onto it relatively quickly.

“Fluffy…”

I smiled at her.

“Goodnight~”

I walked out of the room and started making my way toward the manor.
