Runners Rules
Runners must check in up to 30 minutes before the start of their leg.
Runners will receive their bib when they check in.
For overnight legs 8 - 12, all runners must wear a reflective vest. Runners must provide their own vests.
Headlamps are mandatory for legs 8-12.
Bib numbers must be worn on the front of the runner’s shirt, shorts, or jacket. Bib numbers must be visible.
All participants must be able to maintain a minimum pace of 5:50 mins/km. This pace minimum is to ensure that the event ends on time. It is the Team Captain’s responsibility to ensure that all team members are capable of maintaining this minimum pace.
All legs will start on time. If Teams have runners who do not complete their legs on time, they are responsible to pick up their runners on the course or at the finish line. The finish line crew will not remain on site for late runners.
Runners must run in single file and as close to the shoulder of the road as possible - facing traffic. Runners are only to pass other runners when it is safe to do so. Runners must move off the shoulder onto the pavement when necessary to allow traffic to pass.
Runners cannot be paced by a team member, cyclist, support vehicles, etc.
No wearing earphones, MP3 players, headsets, etc during any leg of the event.
No jogging strollers, rollerblades, bicycles or any other wheeled device allowed on.
Dogs may not accompany runners on the course.
Running hydration vests or handheld running water bottles are recommended.
Support crews are permitted to give refreshments to runners as long as they are doing so safely. Use the water/aid stations rather than rely on a support crew.
Any team vehicles that stop on the route must have all 4 wheels to the right of any white lines or off the pavement onto the side of the road. Parked support vehicles cannot impede traffic in any way.
Do not litter! If you use a gel, put the packaging back in your pocket or leave it at a water station.
