Here are the questions asked and answers to them.
Question: Is there a minimum pace?
Answer: Yes. You need to be able to run a 5:50 mins/per km for the duration of your leg.
Question: If I don't reach the finish line in time, what happens?
Answer: There is no penalty. Your time will be recorded as the allotted time for that leg.
Question: Will teams be disqualified or penalized if team members do not cross the segment finish line at the prescribed time?
Answer: Again, there is no penalty. If a runner does not make it to the finish line in time, they will be given the time limit that was assigned to that leg.
Each leg runs as a separate race. Stages all have a specific start time. The next leg starts shortly after the allotted time for the leg that finished beforehand.
Teams are responsible for meeting their team member at the end of each leg or arranging transportation for their runner.
Question: How are unpredictable injuries going to be dealt with that may result in not completing a leg?
Answer: Safety is the primary concern for this race. We want runners to run within their limits. There will be first aid throughout each leg.
If a runner cannot complete a leg, that runner will be picked up and taken to the care needed for them.
Their team will be given the finishing time that was allotted for that leg.
Question: Where can I stay?
Answer: For the first night, it may make sense to stay at North Port Pier as it is near the finish line of Leg 2 and close to Legs 1,3, and 4
Summerside has a lot of options that would work for Legs 5-9
Saturday Night
Cavendish and Brackley beach make sense for Legs 9-12
Shaw's Hotel and North Winds Hotel is directly on the route for Leg 10
Around legs 13-17 you may have to try AirBnB or a few B&B's as accommodation becomes limited.
Crowbush Resort is close to the middle of Leg 13

Question: When and where is the banquet?
Answer: The banquet is June 21st at Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris. Food service will begin circa 1:30 P.M.
Question: Why are vehicles held back from leaving the parking area 10 minutes before and after a race begins?
Answer: We need a clear finish and start area for runners. We also need race vehicles to be able to get to the next start line unobstructed.
Some runners are FAST and the timing crew needs to get set up quickly. The easier it is for race vehicles to get to finish lines the better for all.
