Larkfield Tarn rarely freezes over, but when it does it still looks beautiful and we can always get warm inside with hot drinks and a warm welcome.

Even in the depths of winter, Larkfield Tarn is the place to be.

You will be sure of a warm welcome in our friendly clubhouse.

Our Swans making the best of it.

We still sail even on the coldest days

Larkfield Tarn is the home of Swans, Ducks, Gulls, Herons and all sorts of other wild birds and, probably, wild land animals, although we never see them.
Larkfield Tarn in December, frozen over

December 2023

After a prolonged cold spell the lake was frozen over except for a small area above a spring.  The resident Swans were in charge.

But in the spring and summer you wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

You can see why Larkfield Tarn is called a "Tarn". This is a view from The Billing.
