This Privacy Policy describes how FreeMind AI ("the Application", "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed and maintained by Md. Rahul Reza, handles your information and respects your privacy.
FreeMind AI is built with a strict "Privacy by Design" and "Local-First, Offline-First" architecture:
No API Keys • No Account Required • No Cloud Servers • Private by Design
FreeMind AI does NOT collect, store, transmit, monetize, or share any personal data with external servers, developers, or third parties.
No User Accounts: You do not need to register, sign in, or provide an email address, phone number, or name to use the App.
No Cloud AI Transmission: All AI processing, text generation, document analysis, study assistance, and chat interactions occur strictly locally on your device. Your conversations, prompts, and confidential documents are never uploaded to any remote server or cloud infrastructure.
No Analytics or Trackers: We do not include third-party tracking SDKs, advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob), or telemetry trackers.
All data generated during your usage of the App remains entirely on your local device storage:
Conversations & Messages: Chat logs and generated responses.
Local Documents & Chunks: Imported documents, text files, and vector indices used for local Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Study & Writing Sessions: Quizzes, flashcards, summaries, and creative prompts.
App Settings & Preferences: Theme settings (Light/Dark mode) and user configurations.
This data is stored securely in an isolated, on-device SQLite database (Drift) inside your application sandbox. You retain 100% ownership and control of this data at all times.
FreeMind AI requests only the minimal device permissions necessary to provide offline workspace functionality:

Used exclusively by the open-source upgrader library to query official app store APIs (Google Play Store / Apple App Store) to notify you when a new app version is available. No personal data, prompts, or device telemetry are ever transmitted.
We take the security of your local data seriously:
PIN Protection: If enabled, your App Lock PIN is hashed using a cryptographically secure, salted SHA-256 algorithm and stored in your device's hardware-backed keystore (FlutterSecureStorage).
Local Backup & Erase: You have the power to create password-protected local backup files of your workspace or instantly wipe all local data from the in-app Settings screen at any time.
FreeMind AI does not use third-party analytics, behavioral profiling, or advertising services. The only network activity initiated is an automated check for app updates via the public store endpoints.
FreeMind AI does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, our services comply fully with children's online privacy regulations.
