I created this project in my 2nd year of college using Unreal Engine 4. I wanted to challenge myself for this project, so I decided to go for a top down camera angle level. This would help to increase my understanding of camera use. In order to get a full grasp of how this level should be developed, I used inspiration from the game Resident Evil 0. I mainly wanted to learn how they were able to change the perspective of the game from a third person shooter to a top down shooter when travelling through different areas of the game while also complimenting the gameplay. I also wanted to gain more knowledge on mazes and how they can be engaging and complex to the player at the same time.
- GAMEPLAY -
A top down puzzle horror game where the player is trapped in a huge mansion and must complete mazes and collect keys to escape while being chased by ghosts.
MECHANICS
These ghosts are around the entire level and will chase you when in their proximity. They can travel through walls and increase your insanity when collided with the player. They move very slow but deal high damage.
Each key can open a new door in the level could be upstairs or downstairs they hover over the player when collected and disappear when used.
