Now known as RAAAP-1, the original Research Administration as a Profession (RAAAP) project was funded by the NCURA Research Program. Simon Kerridge, University of Kent and Stephanie Scott, Columbia University were the Co-Principal Investigators. The survey ran in 2016 and elicited 2,691 responses from 63 countries across the world.
The data are all available on figshare and can be accessed through our data page, and the final report is available on the NCURA website.
Each survey collects demographic information and some core information about RMAs. The first survey focussed on skills, in order to explore the importance of "soft" transferable skills, such as as communication and collaboration as compared to "hard" technical skills associated with the profession, such as finding funding opportunities and proposal preparation. While RMA specific "hard" skill as certainly needed, it seems that the "soft" skills are actually far more important.
