This is a science experiment that I could do with students. It shows that I can have an engaging activity in my instructional practice that brings in real-life materials we may see every day.
This lesson goes to instructional delivery in standard 5. I am using engaging activities and carrying it out in a specific way to benefit my students.
In this lesson, I learned that you need to practice or try an experiment before you actually do it. I tried just taping the video right away and the experiement failed because I did not have the right amounts of the materials and it went wrong. If I did this in class it wouldn't be good as I would be wasting time and not making my point correctly.
This video shows fun math activities that I could facilitate within a classroom using hands-on methods. I used many material that could engage student like links and playing cards that can make the lesson more fun.
I think this lessons shows that I understand professional learning standard 2, content and Content Area and Pedagogical Knowledge where I know my standards and the material that the students need to know and I can create specific activities to meet those standards.
In this lesson I learned that I can think outside of the box to meet my learning standards and find fun things to use to engage my students. I also learned that I could use these little activities later as task boxes or reinforcement for idle time in my classroom and students would pick to use them because they are fun games and materials.
