For the latest parish volunteers news
This programme of designations is now closed. It was only made possible thanks to the significant funding by Suffolk County Council, East Suffolk, Mid Suffolk and Babergh District, many of the parish councils and an army of local volunteers.
Given the ongoing level of interest in this scheme, we shall continue to capture further nominations using the form below, subject to the following terms and conditions:
nominations will only be accepted from the relevant impacted Parish Council chairman or clerk
there are no guarantees that any captured nominations shown on the backlog list will be designated
to do so will require clarification of funding, SCC Highways support/ priority and a volunteer co-ordination team to help manage the overall process
the costs were kept low by batching up requests that could be processed at the same time, after local consultation had confirmed there was sufficient public support
a core management team of mostly volunteers will be required to co-ordinate the activities and be the main interface between the relevant parishes and SCC Highways
expressions of interest are just that, with no obligation on either Highways nor the Parish Council to proceed unless otherwise formally agreed
For general background and process overview, refer to the Parish Presentation and QLS project pages for further details.
Summary details of your interest shall be recorded on our County Map as an indication of demand. When the circumstances prevail, someone shall get back in touch with the parish clerk as soon as the required funding and volunteer support situation is available.
In the meantime, you can follow our progress on the QuietLanesSuffolk Facebook Page and join our QLS Facebook Group to engage further.
