Welcome students and families! My name is Mrs. Marivel Pesqueira and am proud to serve as a Counselor here at Phoenix Digital Academy. I have worked with our PXU community and students for almost 15 years – supporting, encouraging, and helping in any way that I can. I have a BS in Psychology from ASU and a Master’s in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I am grateful for the passion and commitment we share in helping all students succeed during high school and after high school. Teaching students the value of hard work, diligence and perseverance in all aspects of life will allow them to achieve success – academically and personally. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals – however those pathways may look as every student is different. I look forward to working with you!

I was born in Mexico City and I am a first generation student. I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accountant from the UNAM (Universidad Autónoma de México), an M. Ed in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have been in the education field for 21 years, 16 of them as school counselor and 12 in the Phoenix Union High School District. I love what I do! Every day and every student is different. My goal is to help all the students navigate the educational system providing academic, social/emotional and post-secondary guidance. I look forward to collaborate with PXU Digital students, families, staff, and community partners. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me via email, or TEAMS.
Dolores Ramirez

I am a native Arizonan, educator, mother and advocate of post-secondary education. I am committed to opening the door to higher education for students and parents. As a first generation college bound student I attended Arizona State University where I majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. I have my M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and my M.Ed in School Counseling from Ottawa University. I have been in the education field for 26 years. I believe students need to be aware of multiple pathways; a four-year degree is not the only post-secondary pathway that leads to success. My passion for Post-Secondary awareness developed when I realized the students siting in my classroom were unaware of all opportunities available to them. I look forward to working with PXU Digital students, staff and families.

I am passionate about helping others, lifelong learning and guiding adolescents through high school on their journey towards adulthood. I earned a B.A. in Anthropology and French from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from DePaul University and an M.Ed. in Counseling from DePaul University. I have been an educator for 24 years and absolutely love what I do! My philosophy of education and counseling are built upon the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) mission statement and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. IB “aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” My counseling services are designed to meet the social/emotional, educational and career needs of all students through collaboration, leadership, advocacy, systemic change, professional development and accountability (ASCA).

Hello Everyone, I am so excited to continue growing as a Digital community this year! As the school social worker it is my job to provide support to students academically and socially/emotionally. I am also able to collaborate with your caregivers, teachers and administration to ensure we are identifying barriers to academic success and creating a plan to support you.
