The chapter opens with Brandon Sangster in the training forest on an investigation mission from he previous chapter. He encounters where the Earth Phantom resides and attempts to just blow it up; however, it fails because it was being protected by a barrier created from umbrakinesis. While thinking, Brandon is snuck up on by the unknown advisor so he fires off a beam of cryokinesis out his mouth, creating a mountain-like structure out of pure ice. The Advisor acknowledges Brandon challenging him to a fight. Brandon agrees as it cuts to Hydama and Alice's training with Charles. Hydama eventually gets fed up and argues that he's learning nothing. Charles just concludes the training for the day as it cuts back to Brandon and The Advisor, ending the chapter.
