District Games Arc

Chapter 21 - 

Introduction

The arc starts on September 10, 2014 with the chant "Tree branch, Tectonic inner and outer core, Terracotta Army, Awaken, Earth Phantom!" This triggers the crystal to start incubating the Earth Phantom.

Preparations

Charles Paleosage comes out to greet Hydama and tells him their training will begin upon, his granddaughter, Alice's return. The conversation between: Hydama, Kyla, Alice, Nyah, Koga, and Runa goes into the details of the plan to train the freshman as Nyah speaks up, confirming she's already ranked at Tier 3. This puts Koga in shock momentarily until he snaps out of it and Nyah is the one to give Alice the idea to train with her granddad.

In the Training Forest, a masked man that is an Advisor to the Guardian is watching over the Earth Phantom's progress as The Jester arrives. The two clearly have a history together and don't see eye to eye. When The Jester leaves, Nycto is spotted and the two begin a one sided fight and Nycto is forced to merge with the advisor. 

Back at the school, Kyla and Koga are sparring one another with the latter attempting to teach Kyla kinetic status. Kyla fails to do so and Koga explains what she's doing wrong. Koga wanted to end the session for the day; however, Nyah interjects telling Koga that Kyla is probably better off learning overcharge first. Koga reluctantly agrees after Runa backs Nyah up and Kyla begins learning overcharge. Kyla picks it up fairly quickly surprising Koga as he senses out Kyla's kinetic energy. Koga mentions her energy type which prompts him to ask Kyla to attempt overcharge again after she was knocked out of it previously by Runa. Kyla complies and does it again easily. Koga tells her to be calm when using overcharge because she was activating it when enraged. Koga also analyses the amount of excess kinetic energy Kyla stores to be able to fuel overcharge so easily. Kyla hasn't mastered overcharge so it causes her body to harm itself.

In the Council Office, Brandon is there because he was given a mission to go into the Training Forest and report back with information regarding Nycto's disappearance and the rapid gaining of strength of another phantom. Brandon agrees and heads there. He eventually notices the incubating Earth Phantom and with his innate kinetic, Kartakinesis, to attempt to blow it up and be done with it; however, it fails and a confrontation between him and the unknown advisor begin. Brandon's overcharge runs out first and he collapses as ??? turns overcharge off and proceeds to heal Brandon and wait for him to wake up. When Brandon wakes up, he's shocked he wasn't killed and asks about it which leads to an important conversation about fate and the general concept of free will. That conversation ends with the two exchanging one question for each other, ??? asks Brandon how he hit him with his blade in which Brandon replies. Brandon ask ??? about when the Earth Phantom is going to awaken and the reply is September 17, 2014.

Preliminaries

• Earth District

Beginning in Chapter 31, Aythina, Leidan becomes what's known as "The Earth District "and citizens react to the earthquakes caused by the Earth Phantom. A news broadcast warns civilians of the impending earth phantom threat as soldiers arrive, taking aim at the Earth Phantom. They fail to do any notable damage and the Earth Phantom retaliates with a magnitude 9 earthquake that kills off 2,500 soldiers and 299,600 civilians with one lone survivor. A sudden explosion from space lands as Koga arrives to take on the Earth Phantom. As the two's fight goes on, Nyah arrives with Brandon's "King's Blade" - slicing off one of the arms of the Earth Phantom. The Earth Phantom's innate kinetic is revealed to be Ecokinesis as it begins healing itself and getting stronger. Both Nyah and Koga sense this and rush to fight the Earth Phantom so it can not get any stronger. Koga used himself as distraction first so Nyah can cut through the Earth Phantom then he reveals his inherited kinetic; that being Telekinesis. Koga uses his telekinetic abilities to throw a rock at the Earth Phantom as another distraction before letting it fall into a pond in which Kyla arrives with the doll stolen from Aya. After the King's Blade could no longer maintain itself, Nyah creates a new sword via kinetic creation and supports Kyla in the assult against the Earth Phantom. Nyah, nearly getting trapped, was pulled back by Koga as he tells Kyla to distract it with "Power wash" and Nyah goes in to slice the Earth Phantom. Koga, sensing the Earth Phantom's next attack, jumps in front of Nyah - taking the hit that would nearly kill him; however, this would cause an awakening in Koga. While in the state between life and death, Koga would look back on his life while talking to Nigel. Koga would also speak to Aliyah and Brandon while in this state. Brandon
