Gender & Development

The Gender and Development (GAD) unit in the Open University System is mandated to develop and promote programs on gender empowerment, gender equity, and inclusivity. OUS ensures full participation on the national and the university programs on Gender and Development (GAD) which is essential in achieving a gender sensitive institution. Programs and activities focus on the socially constructed differences between men and women, the challenges in the existing gender roles and relations, and the creation and effects of class differences on development. These activities intends to increase awareness, encourage research, and promote inclusivity in the community.
