Los Angeles Kings pipeline

The Los Angeles Kings farm system is ranked 18th by Puck Pipeline. The Kings seemed to be this up-and-coming force following the dramatic fall from western titans to basement dwellers following their success in the early half of the 2010's. Los Angeles was loading up with young talent draft after draft, and the future seemed immensily bright; until Pierre-Luc Dubois arrived. Los Angeles thinned themselves to acquire the former 3rd overall pick, which very quickly turned out to be a disaster. Once-upon-a-time top prospects like Quinton Byfield, Alex Turcotte, and Artur Kaliyev have yet to have the impact that Los Angeles dreamed of when they drafted these talented players all those years ago. Following year-after-year playoff exits at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles seems to be at a turning point. This team currently is barely good enough to qualify for the playoffs, and there isn't enough young talent that is climbing through the ranks at the given moment. LA managed to steal 2 CHL snippers in the past 2 drafts - that being Koehn Ziemmer and Liam Greentree - both are turning heads across their respective leagues. 2024-25 will be a crucial season for Quinton Byfield and Brant Clarke, both of whom will be relied on greatly.ย
