Zip-Lining
November 12-14, 2021
Blackwell Forest Preserve/The Forge
For our November outing, Troop 401 has two objectives planned. First, we will be hosting Webelos as potential new scouts for our troop, and then we will be enjoying an afternoon of climbing and ziplining .
Local Webelos Scouts are invited to join the Troop for camping Friday night through lunch time on Saturday. The Troop will host an open-house style campout with Webelos focused activities in the morning and will provide lunch for Webelos Scouts and their parents.
We will begin the weekend with a planned overnight program to help Webelos put their scouting skills to use. This is a fun way to give back to Scouting, and it is a great chance to show the Webelos why they should cross over to Troop 401.
After the Webelos depart on Saturday afternoon, the Troop will drive about 30 minutes to The Forge in Lemont, IL. There the troop will attend a detailed safety orientation, and then take part in a three-hour Climb and Zipline Adventure. This Climb and Zipline Adventure experience includes the World’s Largest Ropes Course, two miles of ziplines, climbing towers, and a One-Thousand Foot Quarry Zip! A Waiver is required and will be distributed later. Zipliners must be between 70 and 250 pounds, and taller than 52”, but less than 78”.
The Troop will camp at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville, IL.
