Challenge: With the advent of new bio-based materials, a different system should be designed, so that their value is understood and kept till the very end of life of each product. To give an example: many bioplastics cannot be composted, but should be treated by specific industrial plants. Other plastics, especially the DIY ones that we will be working on, are compostable. Therefore, many challenges raise:

  • how do we sort our prototypes once they have been used?

  • how can we reinforce reusing strategies in our atelier?

  • how we compost compostable prototypes? will we gain value out of this process?

  • how can we engage stakeholders in this process? what is in it for them?


Starter kit includes:

  1. two trash bins (not joking!)

  2. samples to be composted / biodegraded
