On the 16th of June, the public dissemination of the Erasmus+ project “Protect Earth, Save Life” took place at the Escola Básica dos 2.º e 3.º Ciclos of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos. This project was developed in partnership with schools from Czechia, Slovakia, Spain and Italy. It had the purpose of showing our students how everyday human activities can influence the natural resources without which we cannot live (water, forests, soil). By participating in this project, students sought to find ways to reduce consumption, frequent waste and, at the same time, increase their own responsibility towards the Planet.

This dissemination is part of one the final products of the project and it was attended by some of the entities that contributed to the achievement of its goals, namely the Town Hall of Câmara de Lobos, the Parish Council of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, the Island Association of Geography; the Public Transport Company: “Horários do Funchal, SA” and members of the educational community.

The students presented not only the activities they carried out during each of the mobilities, which dealt with the five main topics of the project: water, food, recycling, waste and transport, but also the main lessons which they have learned over the two and a half years of the project development.

The project coordinator: Miguel Chicória
