Edward Ramirez received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB)  in Kinesiology with an emphasis on adapted physical education (APE) teacher education in 2016 . In 2018, He also received his California teaching credential in physical education with added authorization in APE from (CSULB). While in school, Edward worked at UCLA, helping to found Angel City Games, a track and field event for participants of all ages with physical disabilities. In 2016, Edward was hired by his hometown parks and recreation department to develop the first-ever inclusive program for kids with disabilities, a program he ran from 2016 to 2018. After receiving his teaching credential, Edward left the City of Long Beach after accepting an adapted physical education position with the Los Angeles Unified School District. In 2022, Edward suffered a career-ending injury. Exploring his options, he ended up at the University of Georgia, where he is now a first-year  PhD student in sports pedagogy. Edward's research interests focus on wheelchair users (of all ages) and the barriers and lack of access that wheelchair users (of all ages) face in accessing physical activity options, more specifically sports and recreational opportunities. When not in school, he enjoys sports and family time back home in Long Beach, California.
