Ali Konnerth, a New York native, is a MS/PhD student working with Dr. Kirk at the University of Georgia. She
received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland in Health Education and College Health
Promotion in 2018. After graduating with her Bachelors degree, Ali became a middle and high school
health teacher. During her teaching experience, she noticed students with disabilities were often left
out of health curriculum and lessons did not focus on the needs of the students. Ali is pursuing her
MS/PhD degree in Sport Pedagogy with an emphasis in Adapted Sport. Her research pursuits focus
on the experiences of persons with disabilities who took a high school health education class, and
adapted sport coach pathways and motivation. In her free time, Ali enjoys playing tennis, cooking
and baking, and going on walks with her dog.
