These tasks can quickly become daunting. Fortunately, we have designed a range of training alternatives to suit your specific requirements.

PART 2: DEEP DIVE & FACILITATED WORK SESSION

Determine ways elective teachers and extra-curricular teachers can support the implementation of the SCR
Create a Timeline of Implementation: (Use the phases of implementation to see the big picture and create 5 year)
Audience: Ideal for committee members
Purpose: Meant as a planning session to take a deep dive into your work in order to offer the Seal in your district.
Outcomes for this training:
Elective Teachers will complete an elective criteria form to align their course to civic participation requirements
Make decisions as the facilitation of the systems and processes required to offer the SCR as an opportunity for students (tracking, communication, record keeping, etc.)
Includes build time for teachers who adapt or create curriculum materials that meet the requirements of the Seal (Projects, rubrics, assessments)
Audience: Ideal for Building and District Administrators at both the Middle and Highschool Level
Purpose: Meant as a planning session to help you make informed decisions about how the roll out should occur in your district.
Outcomes for this training:
Develop a basic understanding of the requirements of offering the Seal of Civic Readiness in your district
Explore the phases of implementation to determine the optimal integration of civics K-12
Complete your NYS Pilot School Application needed for approved to offer the Seal of Civic Readiness as an opportunity in your district.

Participants will be given concrete examples of materials from pilot schools throughout NYS from which to model and build their own seal program.
The course will be asynchronously delivered through the LMS CANVAS. Participants will receive a CANVAS code before the course begins.
