NUR 244 - Health Promotion and Assessment:
In this course, I completed case studies on the eleven body systems. I assessed the medical, social, and personal history of the individuals cited in the case studies. I obtained vital signs and compared the values obtained to accepted values to test for irregularities. Following the nursing process, I assigned a nursing diagnosis based on subjective and objective data. I created a care plan to achieve a client-centered goal. After implementing my interventions, I evaluated the effectiveness of the care plan in meeting the health objective.
NUR 332 - Nursing Care of the Adult I: This course is focused on teaching holistic care principles in medical-surgical nursing. I learned about acute and chronic alterations in health for the adult client. I performed extensive research on the pathophysiology of common ailments and the treatment plans to cure or minimize symptoms. During the laboratory and clinical experience, I evaluated lab values and implemented nursing interventions as prescribed by the provider. For each client, I identified the major health issue and created a care plan to address the client's needs.
