Writing your Personal Statement

What to keep in mind for Personal Statement:

• One page is recommended (around 750-850 words)

• You can have a generic PS and customize the last paragraph for specific programs

• Make sure you proof read your PS, and ask other trusted sources (me included) to proof read and provide feedback on content

• The first paragraph should capture attention – a narrative or compelling story is recommended

• PS should be PERSONAL…sharing something unique to you and not regurgitating your CV
