S.U.N. is an evidence based 8-week culturally-relevant intervention designed to help Black and Biracial adolescent girls better manage stress and anxiety.

A hallmark of the program is the S.U.N. mobile app that allows girls to build and record their own theme song, which can be accessed during times of stress and negative thinking.

Over the years, girls have responded positively to the intervention, reporting lower stress post-intervention.

Additionally, girls have consistently shared how the intervention has changed their behavior, attitude, helped in stressful home situations, and promoted calmness and focus.

Study data include psychosocial measures of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, mindset, racial identity, and ethnic identity.

S.U.N. Mission Statement:

We hope to learn more about anxiety and stress through our experiences in SUN. This will help us create lasting relationships, develop a strong sense of identity, and view ourselves as powerful, successful leaders, that positively influence the world around us.
