1. Load Your Data:
Open Power BI and load your dataset.
Go to the "Home" tab and click on "Transform Data" to open the Power Query Editor.
2. Open Power Query Editor:
In the Power Query Editor, select the table that contains the column you want to split.
3. Select the Column to Split:
Click on the column you want to split.
4. Split Column:
Go to the "Transform" tab and click on "Split Column".
Choose the appropriate option based on your needs:
By Delimiter: Split the column based on a specific character or delimiter (e.g., comma, space).
By Number of Characters: Split the column after a specified number of characters.
By Positions: Split the column at specific positions.
By Lowercase to Uppercase: Split the column where lowercase letters transition to uppercase letters.
By Digit to Non-digit: Split the column where digits transition to non-digits.
5. Configure Split Options:
If you chose "By Delimiter", select the delimiter and specify whether to split at each occurrence or at the leftmost/rightmost delimiter.
If you chose "By Number of Characters" or "By Positions", specify the number of characters or positions.
6. Apply Changes:
Click "OK" to split the column.
Click "Close & Apply" in the Power Query Editor to apply the changes and return to the main Power BI window.
Your column should now be split into multiple columns based on your chosen criteria.
