Nesta aula assíncrona assistiremos a palestra do Prof. Bernard Spolsky organizada pelo nosso colega Anik Nandi sobre a gestão dos repertórios linguísticos e refletir sobre as políticas linguísticas para regiões multilíngues ou com potencial para um multilinguismo crescente.
In this asynchronous class, we will watch a lecture by Prof. Bernard Spolsky organized by our colleague Anik Nandi on managing linguistic repertoires and reflecting on language policies for multilingual regions or regions with the potential for increasing multilingualism.
The linguistic repertoire is the set of skills and knowledge a person has of one or more languages, as well as their different varieties (be they diatopic, diaphasic, diastratic or diachronic). This repertoire comprises elements of the different levels of description of language and its use (phonetic-graphical, lexical-grammatical, discursive-textual or pragmatic). Concerning the use of languages, this repertoire forms the basis of every language learner’s plurilingual competence (either current or possible). If the learner's education system includes the study of non-living languages, like Latin, this linguistic knowledge also forms part of that person’s linguistic repertoire, even though their command is usually restricted to the receptive use of written texts. O repertório linguístico é o conjunto de habilidades e conhecimentos que uma pessoa possui de uma ou mais línguas, bem como de suas diferentes variedades (sejam diatópicas, diafásicas, diastráticas ou diacrônicas). Esse repertório é composto por elementos dos diferentes níveis de descrição da linguagem e do seu uso (fonético-gráfico, léxico-gramatical, discursivo-textual ou pragmático). No que diz respeito ao uso de línguas, este repertório forma a base da competência plurilingue de todos os alunos de línguas (atuais ou possíveis). Se o sistema educacional do aluno inclui o estudo de línguas não vivas, como o latim, esse conhecimento lingüístico também faz parte do repertório lingüístico dessa pessoa, embora seu domínio geralmente se restrinja ao uso receptivo de textos escritos.
