South East Asia

1. BL

1.1 TESOL grads are reaching out to their community through teaching English. Pray for effective penetration with the good news.

1.2 Pray that the men who have been taught by BL about leading their families biblically will do so, and will influence others to do so.

Parachurch Workers

1. Fellowship of Evangelical Students, Singapore: Siah May Lan

1.1 Pray for God's continued healing on May Lan’s mother’s knee and stomach cancer. Pray for her appetite to improve and her condition to be stabilised so there is an opportunity to go on a short trip in November.

1.2 Pray for May Lan God's guidance and wisdom in choosing a counselling course for full time studies and her sabbatical plans to be confirmed and approved for 2023. Also pray for an opportunity to go for an overseas retreat course in December 2022.

1.3 Pray for God's wisdom to build and sustain the small group of art students and for raising new leaders in NAFA/Lasalle CF group; for concrete strategies and monetary resources in ministry outreach and forming a Christian fellowship in ITE East and West campus. Pray as May Lan completes a proposal for the ministry work in ITE too.


2. Wycliffe Singapore: Grace Tan

2.1 Pray for Grace who is writing her MA Thesis that has been extended to 30 October; that she will do a good job on it and hand it in on time. Pray for Grace as she leads a Wycliffe storytelling event on 5 November.

2.2 Pray for Grace’s sister who is still ill. Continue to pray that she will grow stronger and flourish as she follows the Lord’s leading.


3. YWAM Singapore: Beatrice Wee

3.1. Pray for Beatrice that she will be refreshed and rejuvenated during this season of her sabbatical and also in her discernment on the Lord’s leading in her ministry.

3.2 Pray for breakthrough and also for Beatrice to experience God’s grace, mercy and strength to carry her through the challenges that she is currently facing.


4. Navigators Singapore: Roger Yeo

4.1 Pray for J1, J2, QG, WD, E, A, S that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts about Jesus Christ and that the seeds planted would fall on good soil. Matthew 13. Pray they would take the step of faith.

4.2 Pray that the Lord would raise up / bring about labourers willing to serve in this ministry reaching out to geeks. Harvest is indeed plentiful but the workers are few. Matthew 9:37-38.

5. YWAM Singapore: David & Tessa Weiher

5.1 YWAM‘s new training campus is almost finished! Pray for wisdom for the Weihers and their team who are coordinating the Big Move, and that a wave of new missionaries will be equipped to reach the nations!

1. East Asia : TK

1.1 Pray for TK and the campus teams spiritual and physical health as they continue to keep good friendships and share the gospel to students.

1.2 Pray for God’s provision to meet the financial needs of TK’s family. Pray for TK’s parents’ and parents’-in-law’s health.

2. South Asia : GEMS

2.1 Pray for the GEMS staff and pastors to continue to stand firm in faith and to serve the Lord faithful in the midst of persecution and the current pandemic situation.

2.2 Pray for India as the country is badly affected by the pandemic - for many people are without jobs and the poor are suffering without basic necessities.

2.3 Pray for the Bible School students that they will continue to learn and be agents of transformation wherever the Lord leads them.

3. East Asia: Songs

3.1 Pray for the Songs and their children to continue to walk close with God and be filled with the Holy Spirit always.

3.2 Pray for TAN-NW workers’ concerns for their children’s education and care of aging parents. Pray for wisdom as they make decisions in these matters.

4. Central Asia: C&M

4.1 Pray for C&M, good health and protection as they move about. Pray for their two elder boys who are away in boarding school and experiencing homesickness.

4.2 Pray for the ministry of local leaders in Aland that they will be able to continue to grow in faith and have opportunities to share with others too. Pray for winter preparations and for humanitarian help in Aland.

Ministry Executive, Family Life Ministry

Job Overview

Reporting to their immediate supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for designing and executing the church Family Life Ministry programmes in PLMC.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Pastoral team, the FLM Committee and relevant ministries (such as Youth Ministry and Glowing Years Ministry) to strengthen family and marriage relationships, equip parents/grandparents to raise godly children/grandchildren, and champion biblical singlehood and dating in PLMC

  • Plan for leadership continuity with his/her immediate supervisor

  • Recruit and deploy volunteers to plan and execute FLM strategies and programmes

  • Plan, coordinate and lead ministry programmes in partnership with the volunteers

  • Assist and support all FLM related initiatives/programmes, including being the liaison person between the church office and the volunteers

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the family life ministry scene e.g. new programmes, resources

  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to FLM leaders

  • Assist in the review and preparation of an annual budget to support the various FLM programmes

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge


Requirements

  • Theological degree or relevant experience

  • A genuine interest in family life matters and people, and a strong passion for working towards strengthening families, marriages, singles, and parents

  • Proven leadership with strong verbal and written skills

  • Proficiency in events organisation and management
