Dear Brothers and Sisters,
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Glowing Years Ministry (GYM) had to cope with unexpected changes and challenges.
We did not stop what we were doing. Instead we re-strategised by scaling down group sizes and numbers of participants.
We remember that God is with us and everything is under God’s control and never ours.
Through His wisdom, we took an optimistic approach to strengthen our GYM leadership team. Together we re-energised and re-engaged our seniors through alternative and innovative initiatives.
We discovered our seniors chose not to go out during the pandemic. We realised that they could not meet their friends and loved ones.
Our Senior Connect kick started an on-line digital workshop by using their handphones. They found it useful as it equipped them with basic hands-on IT knowledge. To engage them further we connected with them using WhatsApp video call.
Our line-dancing continued with their physical and Facebook classes.
Also, our Ukulele continued their practice sessions in small groups.
Both Line Dancing and Ukulele teams were invited to perform at TRAC Board of Seniors worship service.
Our morning walk resumed with small groups of 5 on weekdays and weekends. Our seniors could now go out and were delighted to meet up with their friends.
Lastly our enrichment & health talks were on going attracting from 25 to 95 participants.
We praise God for His guidance & direction.
