Recommended Interventions
In order to fix the problem of unpreparedness within the chapter we need to spend hours practicing for formal rush during work week. Before formal recruitment starts there is something called work week where all sororities on campus are required to take the week to practice for recruitment. Because of the different days of rush such as two days of open house, one day of philanthropy, one day of sisterhood, and one day of pref. Each of these days is designed for the new girls to decide if your sorority is a good fit for them, as well as for you to decide if the girls are a good fit for your chapter. Because of this there is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into having the new girls talk to girls they will probably get along with so you have multiple opinions on different girls. You want to do all of this without the new girls knowing so you need to practice in order to pull it off seamlessly. However because our chapter does not feel prepared to pull off these events seamlessly there is a lot of stress the day of. By making the training hours of work week required for all members we would be able to eliminate the issues of not having enough members to practice properly. As well as devoting 3 hours a night during work week to practice and run through the events of each day of rush we would be able to hopefully change this issue our chapter has and continue to grow without issue.
