Rehearsal Plan:
Objectives:
(Written first song), set band roles, making sure the song structure flows into each section, adjust original composition to fit needs (i.e, limited sound scapes with only having a bass and electric - no bypass to switch electric signal from clean to distorted), set groundwork with melodies I have made, make sure the composition sounds clear with the vocals added, place drums into the composition (drums are not transcribed by me), the breakdown includes the modal interchange chords of (F7,E7,Eb7,E7) under the solo, the hemiola rhythm is set in specific drum fills, ostinato in the lead section of the first verse were notes of (A,A#,F,A#,A...)
Issues:
Limited sound scapes have lead to rearrangement in instrumentation - the transcriptions will need to be adjusted for respective roles after the rehearsal to be learnt. - adding drums into the composition will be key as drums are not transcribed by me as of now. Lyrics have been written - I have the vocal melodies ready; must align well with the lyrics.
Individual needs:
Individual needs must be met in rehearsals - for my rehearsal plan I must allow for these contingencies, no one in our band has specific needs such as being vulnerable to sounds or having physical complications. Some members of my band, including myself - struggle to be consistent in getting to rehearsal on time and/or being present. For this I must allow myself the possability for if we do the rehearsal and there is an absence. As I wrote the entirety of song 4 itself - this won't be an issue for guitar/bass - the lyrics not being written however - what would be most problematic is the drummer being absent however we can work around this with creating a temporary drum beat. Updated: This had followed through the way planned - with our tutor Jordan stepping in for drums to create a temporary drum beat to send to our drummer for later reference.
Risk Assessment:
Hazard
Severity
Risk
Person at risk
Prevention
Trip Hazards
Mild - Severe
( Falling may cause injury )
Cables
Bags
Music Stands, own equipment etc
Breaking Equipment
( Value of equipment)
Anyone who needs to move through the area (musicians if they are stood or moving)
Musicians will keep bags away to the side of the room in a designated area.
Cables will not be loosely thrown around and must be organised neatly.
Music stands and any other equipment such as pedalboards should be alerted to the rest of the band.
Spillages
Mild - Severe
( Spillages may lead to falls and slips; same as trip hazards)
Damage to equipment via water damage
( Value of equipment)
Anyone who needs to move through the area (musicians if they are stood or moving) as well as anyone who has equipment as assets such as venues and for example, the college with their equipment such as amplifiers and cabinets).
Musicians will keep drinks away - keeping anything containing water within their bags.
Any drinks seen/left out should be promptly removed or returned to the owners bag.
Any spillages should be alerted if seen.
Exposure to high volumes
Moderate - Severe
( high volumes of 85dB and above can cause permanent damage to hearing)
This can vary for musicians due to exposure over time
Anyone performing with their instrumentation, particularly drummers and guitarists who are infront of the cabinet speakers and output where they receive their audio.
Anyone in the room who may not be a musician may be more likely to have less hearing damage preemptively - so may be more vulnerable too.
Musicians will play to a comfortable volume level . Musicians may also track the dB of the room to see if levels arise over 85dB etc.
