Psychedelic Rock
Improvements: There was room for vocal samples to be used - particularly with outside the apple library, aswell as the instrumentation of the song whilst it does encapsulate the 60's sound - the immediacy in jumping into the song doesn't give the space necessary (similar to the 1970s production).
Starting with the rhythm I used a psychedelic rock drum preset using a Manchester based kit for the session drummer, choosing to have a tambourine percussion with high intensity, complexity and ghost notes for the messy atmospheric feel. Then using a foundation bassline repeating itself - soaked in reverb as well as using a fuzz machine pedal with a constant low wah, filtered using the 'crybaby' - over the 'vox' replica alternative as it has a warmer muddier tone fitting the tone. The end of the bassline becoming isolated away from the guitar and ending abruptly - an element which can be found more commonly in some songs of this decade. For the guitar I used a citric acid amp preset soaked in reverb, using a monster fuzz and delay to really emphasise that psychedelic tone of the 60s in rock - repeating phrasing with slides with the rhythm of the song before moving into double note bends improvising into the feel of the song. The entirety of the sound's creation heavily inspired by the psychedelic rock movement such as using inspired sounds of artists such as Hendrix - with the stacked fuzz, ring modulators and delays, exploring the creation of the sound.
