On 20 July 2023, the exceptional Finnish wildlife photographer Hannu Hautala passed away.
I had the honour to meet him at the IFWP (International Federation of Wildlife Photographers) congress in Finland in 1992, 2001 and in Czechoslovakia in 1992 during the evaluation of the International Wildlife Photography Competition organized by the Klub fotografů přírody (Nature Photographers Club) in Prague, where Hannu Hautala was the chairman of the jury. An outstanding photographer, nature expert, organizer of exhibitions, audio-video presentations and author of more than 60 photographic publications, many of which have been translated into English. In 1972 and 1982 he received the Finnish State Prize
for Photographic Art. In 2002 he was appointed Honorary Doctor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Science, University of Oulu. Hannu Hautala Centre for Nature Photography - the first nature photography centre in Finland opened in 2007 and bears his name. In 2012 He won State Award for Public Information and in 2014 he received the Pro Finlandia medal. We have lost a man who motivated nature photographers from all over the world and brought the beauty of Finnish nature to many people. My condolences to his wife Irma and family.
Vzpomínka na Hannu Hautalu
Dne 20. 7. 2023 zemřel výjimečný finský fotograf divoké přírody Hannu Hautala.
Měl jsem čest se s ním seznámit na kongresu IFWP (International Federation of Wildlife Photographers) ve Finsku v roce 1992, 2001 a v Československu v roce 1992 při vyhodnocení mezinárodní fotografické soutěže divoké přírody, kterou pořádal Klub fotografů přírody v Praze, kde byl Hannu Hautala předseda odborné poroty. Vynikající fotograf, znalec přírody, organizátor výstav, audio-video prezentací a autor více než 60 fotografických publikací, z nichž řada byla přeložena do angličtiny. V roce 1972 a 1982 získal finskou státní cenu za fotografické umění. V roce 2002 byl jmenován čestným doktorem filozofie Fakulty přírodních věd Univerzity v Oulu. Hannu Hautala centrum přírodní fotografie - první centrum přírodní fotografie ve Finsku bylo otevřeno v roce 2007 a nese jeho jméno. V roce 2012 mu byla udělena státní cena za zveřejňování informací a v roce 2014 obdržel medaili Pro Finlandia. Odešel nám člověk, který motivoval fotografy přírody z celého světa a mnoha lidem přiblížil krásy finské přírody. Upřímnou soustrast jeho manželce Irmě a rodině.
