The USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix on May 26-27, 2023 was an event that brought together some of the best track and field athletes from around the world. Taking place at the UCLA throwing facility, the competition was filled with exciting moments, but none more so than Ryan Crouser's amazing shot put competition. 

Crouser, who had already set the world record for the shot put, was looking to improve upon his previous mark of 23.37 meters. What he ended up doing was even more impressive - he smashed his own world record by 20 centimeters, with a throw of 23.54 meters. 

What made his performance even more remarkable was that his three best throws in his series were all over 23 meters. The average of his throws was 23.12 meters, which is equal to the best throw ever by Randy Barnes. 

But Crouser was not the only athlete to have a standout performance at the LA Grand Prix. Maggie Ewen, an American shot putter, extended her personal best by almost a meter, throwing 20.45 meters and securing a world lead for the season. Camryn Rogers, a Canadian hammer thrower, set a new national record while winning the women's hammer throw with a throw of 78.62 meters.

The event was a showcase of the athleticism and grit of some of the world's finest athletes. Each competitor tested their limits, pushed themselves to new heights, and achieved feats that seemed impossible to the average person. Even those who did not reach the record heights were still incredibly impressive

The Los Angeles Grand Prix was a reminder of just how impressive Ryan Crouser truly is. He was quoted as he is still in preseason training phase and has yet to be fresh from training.

Ryan Crouser's new world record in the shot put will go down in history as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of an incredible athlete.
