In this chapter, we describe ways to prepare and manage the learning environment by letting all who enter your learning space know what is valued – questioning, deep thinking, discussing, creating, sharing, reflecting.
To this, we add descriptions of foundational skills and routines that will put students into the mindset and promote the actions of constructing knowledge and we explain how texts and tools, including digital resources, can be used to facilitate those actions we value.
