Today, we are going to practice using the future progressive tense.
The future progressive is:
(future progressive > will + be + ' -ing ' )
We use the future progressive:
(1. To talk about an action that will be in progress before and...
...after a time in the future.)
For example:
(The baseball game starts at 7 p.m. and finishes at 9 p.m.
> At 8 p.m., I will be watching the baseball game.)
(2. To talk about future actions that will happen, because... they always do.)
For example:
(Every day, I wake up at 7 a.m.
> I will be waking up at 7 a.m. tomorrow.)
Compare these sentences:
(The band will play when the students enter.
The band will be playing when the students enter.)
In the first sentence, the band will play and the students will enter the room at the same time.
In the second sentence, the band will start playing before the students enter the room; they will be in the middle of playing.
