Hi, I am Michela Bertaina, Community lover and Ambassador of enthusiasm.

In 2017 I began my journey within tech communities, becoming an active organizer of various communities such as Google Developers Group Turin and Trento, ngRome, Flutter EXP, Italian Community Managers Summit and DInA Tech Hub.

From a passion, community management has become my full-time job with GrUSP since 2020 in which I have organized around fifteen events a year on various programming languages and coordinating the activities of 12 PUG communities at a national level.

I am currently Community Program Manager Europe in Codemotion and in my free time community leader in GDG Bari, WTM Ambassador, partnership team leader in TEDxCuneo and tourism councilor of the municipality of Cissone.

I love the world of conferences and public speaking, I always try to share everything I have learned in my journey giving talks at all main tech events.

Diversity, community, growth and sharing are the values on which I base my projects which I always carry forward with great enthusiasm and energy.

My story

My story starts a saturday of November 11, 1995, in a small village nestled in the heart of the Langhe region called Cissone.

My childhood was spent immersed in the woods and nature. After a year of studying agriculture in high school, I sought a more challenging path and chose to attend a linguistic high school where I studied English, French, and German. Before even graduating, I decided I wanted to do something to change the world, in my own small way.

Here is my journey with challenges and main goals of each year:

2014

I became the tourism councilor of my town, Cissone, joining the municipal council, and graduated in languages with a score of 90/100.

2015

I had a 5-month experience in Switzerland to consolidate my German skills and discover the world in my own way. I started collaborating with AgriBio, an association of organic and biodynamic agricolutures takig care of trade fairs organization, ecommerce and marketing.

2016

I founded "I Servizi delle Stelle" and collaborated with small companies in the organic and biodynamic world to help grow their business. Over the years, I collaborated and coordinated 5 companies and 15 people in the sector, including SRL, ETS, and ONLUS. My responsibilities included marketing, event organization, training, publishing, managing a biodynamic certification brand, paid membership management, business process optimization, digitalization, commercial strategies, team building and management, regional funding calls, accreditation processes, and managing the organic certification of the store.

2017

I joined the GDG Turin as a communication team organizer and began collaborating with the Collisioni festival in Barolo as hostess team leader.

2018

I fully entered the world of communities by attending a lot of tech events and started my journey within the Google Developers Group family, becoming community leader in GDG Bari and a Women Techmaker Ambassador. I gave my first workshop about "How to overcome Impostor syndrome" at DevFest Levante in Torre dell'Orso.

2019

I became an organizer in GDG Trento, community manager and event organizer in Italian Community Managers Summit, ngRome, and FlutterExp. I was re-elected as a municipal councilor with a delegation to tourism.

2020

I became a community manager at GrUSP, coordinated 12 national PUG communities, and organized about fifteen web development events a year with my team (phpday, jsday, angularday, rubyday, Incontro DevOps Italia, etc.)

2021

I joined the TEDxCuneo core team as partnership team leader. I started a new project called "DInA Tech Hub" dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the tech world with other people engaged in this field.

2022

I started a new project dedicated to promoting my loved village Cissone by opening an Instagram page (@cissone_official), I began traveling extensively to attend conferences and events around Italy, and contributed as an organizer, MC, and speaker.

2023

I embarked on a new professional journey at Codemotion, where I am responsible for coordinating the company's community strategy, managing the content and community team in Italy and Spain, with the goal to internationalize the company in Europe.

I deeply believe in the values of respect, sharing, and dialogue. I am convinced that through these values and immersing ourselves in the world of communities, we can grow both personally and professionally in the most comprehensive, rapid, and impactful way possible.

Through sharing and constructive dialogue, we have the opportunity to dive into life, to be influenced by it. I believe this is the most beautiful thing we can do in our existence. Not to limit ourselves to experiencing our own reality, but to do so through that of others, broadening our perception and trying to grasp nuances we would never be able to on our own. I believe this allows us to grow exponentially.

But be careful: opening up to the world does not mean losing our identity. On the contrary, it means affirming it, building it, refining it, and constantly improving it.
