Owen Digital Arts

Welcome to the Owen High digital arts program. Owen High School offers the most diverse CTE course offerings in Buncombe County Schools. Digital Design & Animation and Game Design courses began 7 years ago and are increasing in enrollment every year. Owen offers a wide array of courses in graphics design, animation, and game design to prepare students for careers in game design, animation, and computer graphics.

This year, the following courses are being offered:

Digital Design & Animation II
Game Art & Design

Students have access to the Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk Suite via VMWare when they are at school and at home.

Owen High School is located in Black Mountain, NC, surrounded by scenic mountains and home of the most beautiful sunrises seen anywhere. The Swannanoa Valley, located outside of Asheville, is a wonderful community to call home. Black Mountains has a rich history in the arts and has many talented residents, including our amazing students.

😷Attendance Policy

Attendance will be taken daily. If you are unable to attend, it is your responsibility tocomplete all of the assigned work. On asynchronous days, students must sign in with the attendance form in Google Classroom.

✅ Student Expectations

Attend school every day
Have laptop charged or plugged in for class
Be on time or early for class
Close other tabs/turn off cellphones during class
Participate during class meetings
Put your best effort into your classwork
Turn in assigned work on time
Track grades in PowerSchool
Attend SMART Lunch when instructed to by the teacher
Be ethical, No cheating!

Earbuds or headphones that work with your laptop
Disinfecting wipes (if possible)
Tissue box (if possible)

📵Cellphone Policy

Cellphones are not allowed during class. When a student enters, they should silence their phone and store it until the end of class.
