My name is Ashley Hanna, and I am the digital arts and game design teacher. My classes focus on the skills and techniques needed to pursue careers and/or further education in art and design, 3D modeling, graphic design, animation, video game design, computer science, engineering, and other creative and technical careers.
This year will be my 7th year teaching at Owen. Before moving to Asheville, I taught visual art in Knoxville, TN, my hometown. I earned my bachelor's degree in studio art from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I also earned my Master's Degree in Art Education from Lincoln Memorial University. I have worked in marketing, graphic design, television and film, photography, and as an artist.
I enjoy creative projects, especially printmaking, painting, and making jewelry. I have shown my artwork locally, regionally, and nationally. I also love animals especially my dog, Pepper, and my cat, Tortellini. On the weekends, I am usually riding my bicycle or hiking in the mountains. I am an adventurer at my core and have literally been around the world and back.
I am so excited for my 7th year at Owen High School as a Warhorse!
