"Vancho Nikoleski"

The school "Vancho Nikoleski" is located in the village of Leskoec, which is 3 km from the city of Ohrid in Macedonia and belongs to that municipality.

The school "Vancho Nikoleski" includes the central school in the village of Leskoec, the two satellite schools in the smaller villages Kosel and Kuratica, as well as the regional class in the village of Livoishta.

It has 327 students (from I to IX grade - 6-14 years), that are divided into 9 grades. They are a public school, but we also have few pupils with special educational needs. They study according to the stated programmes by the Ministry of Education and Education Development Bureau as his official part. School total staff has 55 people, 40 teachers, 1 principal, 1 pedagogue, 1 psychologist, 1 librarian, 1 secretary and 10 technical staff. The school is built in 1964 and became independent in 1995.

Vancho Nikoleski's mission is to provide modern and quality education to all our pupils, by the realization of the Ministry of education’s plan and programs, and develop pupils for their successful further education and integration into life in general.

According to that, the school strives to be a safe place for teaching and learning, a place for coexistence and organizing joint activities in the educational process of all ethnic communities in the community.

Vancho Nikoleski has been involved in many projects, as the Magical International Friendship project, in ecology activities for many years, interethnic integration in school activities, sports competitions and other competitions as well. The school has a lot of extracurricular activities, where pupils are involved together with their teachers and where they can use and develop their knowledge and skills in sport, art and culture, communication, democracy, Intercultural education and learning, social dialogue

and care of the environment.

They have experience with many local and national projects, and we are sure that we can integrate our knowledge in international projects as Erasmus.Primary school Vancho Nikoleski already implemented 5 Erasmus+ projects, connected with cultural heritage and ecology. The names of that project are: "Breaking barriers through sharing treasures", Clean nature - long life", "Our culture, our future", "I care" and "Strategies for improving attendance and reducing truancy"  They are motivated by everyday work with kids, who are very creative and curious to beactive and want and need to get new skills and knowledge.

Key staff in charge of running the projects and who has experience in different projects will be:

Vesna Terzioska – school pedagogue, she is active in many fields and wants to create our school more interesting and innovative. She is open-minded and always eager and willing to take part in interesting projects that are world oriented. She also want to get know the world, culture & traditions of other nations.

Elisabeta Nastoska - English teacher, she is active in many international and E-twinning projects and she wants to bring the English language and culture closer to students and make our school more interesting for the students.

The teachers and students are willing to take part in new projects and also get to know the world, culture & traditions of other nations.
