Join the PTA!

Members are vital to our PTA's success. Becoming a member is easy: Visit our PTA store where you can make a secure donation to become a member. While you are there, you can create an account and signup for updates from our various committees.

Member dues are essential to support the PTA’s activities. Membership is donation-based, and any amount is appreciated. All membership donations directly support PTA activities and our school. If you are unable to make a contribution, send us an email and we are happy to add you to our membership list. 

Why join the PTA?

• Children Benefit. Research shows that participating in your child's school helps them perform better academically.

• The School Benefits. The PTA supports our teachers and staff which in turn creates a positive and caring atmosphere in the school.

• Make Connections. Get to know the teachers and staff better and make new friends with other families.

• It's Good for You! Socializing with other families and volunteering to do good for your child's school is fun and rewarding.

Volunteer

The PTA can only do what we have volunteers to make happen! Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents and to learn more about what happens at Oakland Terrace. To get involved with a committee, consult our list of 2023-2024 List of PTA Committees and fill out our committee sign-up/volunteer interest survey.

Before You Volunteer

ALL volunteers who engage in activities with students MUST complete the Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect training and submit proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to volunteering.  The training can be completed via your myMCPS Classroom/Canvas account and is good for 3 years.
