PARENTS, IF YOUR CHILD IS ENROLLED IN AN AFTER-SCHOOL CLASS:

• Parents must inform their child's teacher (and KAH if applicable) about the new dismissal change (here is the form: https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/oaklandes/about/change-of-dismissal).

• Remind your student about the class and dismissal change; they should also hear the announcements during the school day for room assignments.

• Pick up your child on time at the designated location (OTES front door for most activities; at the gym for basketball and indoor sports). The school front door is locked after school and you must contact your program directly if early pick up is needed.

OVERVIEW AND VOLUNTEERING:

• The PTA coordinates before and after school enrichment activities to provide students with opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom. Activities include sports, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts, and chess. Parent volunteers coordinate the activities, which are provided in two sessions -- fall and spring. Activities are organized and led by outside organizations which follow all MCPS regulations and protocols. 

• 👋 Does your family enjoy after school activities? We are seeking helpers and interest in leading coordination for next year! Spring is the time to make plans for next year - new programs, coordinate schedules, and more!
