Feedback and Feedforward are vital pieces of communication. Feedback is a catalyst for learning. It helps us learn what are strengths and our weaknesses are, and how to utilize or address these in the most effective manner.
Feedforward creates a plan on how to facilitate the desired changes that will create effectiveness. It is future focused.
Feedback is a necessary part of growth. I have taken a lot away from the text by Anderson regarding feedback. However, three of the key takeaways for me comes from the podcast with Mellody Hobson. My key takeaways include:
1.) Feedback is not a right. You are not entitled to it. Treat it as a gift.
2.) Be willing to receive feedback from anyone, not dependent on if you like or dislike the person offering the feedback.
3.) Being intellectually honest about your weaknesses.
