Grades K-6
Daily lessons in the Calvert online curriculum are completed at home with parental guidance, approximately 6 hours per day. Generally, lessons need to be completed in order with no gaps. Virtual sessions held weekly online, so that your child can learn and interact with the teacher and peers from home. Although the material is provided online, parents can print them at home if paper is easier for younger students.
Attendance is counted by time spent in courses each day online, through email, phone and in-person communication with teachers, and with weekly virtual session participation. Students must also submit at least one assignment online per day. Extra support can be provided with online intensive lessons, changing the pacing of lessons, or modifying lessons to make challenging concepts more manageable for both parents and students.
Occasionally, students in grades K-6 will come on campus for special activities or events, such as field trips. However, the program does not require regular on-site attendance.
