Extend the game by expanding the playing areaย
As young trainees in vast field of sports, it takes the gut to say that one lost - not in terms of skills but the environment provided by the venue, the place where you trained in, where one developed. "Na-overwhelm po yung mga players - kaya di nakalaro nang ayos." It pains me to see, even as a person who did not pursue but tried sports, to witness disparity because of an unfitted environment for the sporting event to happen.
Table tennis requires, a lot of space to take action -ย It is impressive to watch these players, chasing ball after ball while the enclosure is slowly getting smaller and smaller.
Though a great display of the appreciation on the sport itself, there isn't a celebrity on the ground or an attraction of a life time.
According to the coach and players themselves, table tennis should be played inside a closed rooms - with only the prescence of the players and coach themselves. And yet why was this not able to take place in an event planned for months, and made through the join efforts of teachers and advisers as stated by Education Program Supervisor, Dr. Lino Sanchez?
Knowing that not only we, but the players themselves were robbed of glory - a chance to display a better game and play their hearts out on the table, I am utterly dismayed as it killed the spin of the game. Surely the officiators could've found a way to work around the net?
Sportsmanship does not only apply to players - but to the spectators and event facilitators itself. A competitions is a battle before it even happens.
