A collaborative approach on an elaborate problem
A classroom is made up of two – the speaker and the listener; the student and the teacher; the learner and the educator. When an exchange between the two is processed, one cannot expect a smooth operation between line comprehension and effective evaluation.
Rewrite
Starting in the events inside the educational quarters of the institution, the solution should be integrated as a form of an action
Materials are given, books are opened and the scent of new pages fill in the classroom. Blank pages that are waiting for answers and solutions fill the vision of the students who are sub-par in comprehension. To read is one thing but to write is another.
The first of the 3 R’s provided by the education program supervisor, Dr. Lino Sanchez, student’s ability to write will rest at the top of the mountain of letters and numbers they should be able to comprehend.
Hand in hand with the School Parent-Teachers Association (SPTA) children are guided to write with passion – on a hand that moves not from intelligence but expertise in the field through means of long form exposure. Serving as the ink of their pens, and their fuel for writing, SPTA will be the main guidelines in producing students that can both read and write – well above the line of the standards of the country.
Readjust
Time will not wait for everyone. As years pass, decades build-up, and a new era form, teachers should not be surprised in the difference brought upon by the technological change.
It is almost by surprise, often with no warnings, when a shift and a change pops-up in the system of learning. First comes the technology, then the integration, and lastly the adjustments brought upon the convenience, teachers become buried with realigning to the best method of instructions and the trends that comes with the new set of sections.
Being the first receiver of societal and technological change, teacher takes the roles of innovating on new innovations.
The room for learning once again opens for teachers. Seminars spread throughout the campus, overtaking divisions, gluing together the whole workforce in spite of an action.
From blackboards to whiteboards and chalk to markers, teachers and methods alike isn’t bound into the limits of their classrooms. The medium of traditional teaching is long gone, it is now the age of digitalized projections and fashionable presentations.
Reinforce
Perhaps the most important of the three – the glue that holds together all of the change – the centerfold of all revisions and change, a solid basis of materials for education to happen.
As preachers of information and facilitators of education, DepEd is looking for a solution in giving out more meaning in words of their books and modules.
Words can hold more meaning than actions – for the field of teaching that is. What comes out of the mouth of teachers are from inside the deep knowledge of their years of education – fortified by the specialty of their desired profession.
As the main method and material for education, books and the information itself will come from the reinforced knowledge of teachers.
The current problem requires a two-part solution – both from the efforts of teachers and understanding of students. In the face of a solution, positions are set aside and solidarity will rise – not as a student and a teacher, but as a part of the sector of education.
