Nourishing our educators will nourish our learners
It was stated by Dr. Lino Sanchez, the Education Program Supervisor of Calamba in Filipino, that despite of the major amendments in subjects, teachers in Calamba are not that negatively affected by the reform due to . This may be good news for the city, but this is surely far from reality from the rest of the Philippines.

Then again, I am not lying when I say that I had a breath of relief when I heard about the reduction and decongestion of subjects. Initially, I thought that this would put an end to the decades-long war on academic burnout because of the requirements that will surely lessen with it. However, It makes me wonder: what will happen to the teachers who specialize in the subjects that were decongested?

To think that Calamba is free of this issue is extremely admirable. Calamba lives up to being one of the more advanced cities in the Philippines, and from this, we should continue to set an example and spearhead advancement through education as we continue to cultivate both our educators and learners.
On the contrary, for the rest of the Philippines, aside from over burdening teachers with things they were not even trained for, this also limits learners of their true potential and depriving actual aspiring teachers of suited jobs for them.ย
So, instead of putting tight constraints on educators and learners, DepEd shoulf follow the ways of Calamba by making ways to give both students and teachers what they deserve. Hire more teachers, to fill in jobs and assure that they deliver quality education.
