Issued on November 06, 2024, the Philippine Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirmed that Typhoon MARCE or Yinxing will continue to intensify over Northern Luzon in the coming hours.
Moderate to heavy rain will be experienced by Kalinga, Isabela, Ilocos Sur, and Aurora tonight until tomorrow evening (November 8) with 50-100m of rainfall while intense to torrential rainfall will be experienced by Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte at the same time.
Strong wind flow from the northeast will bring strong gusts over Zambales, Bataan, and Polillo Islands on November 7 while Batanes, Northern parts of Cabayan, and the Easter portion of Isabela and Ilocos Region will be affected on November 8.
In addition, a high risk of life-threatening storm surges with peek heights exceeding 3 meters above normal tide levels within the next 48 hours will be exposed at coastal areas of Northern Luzon.
After its predicted landfall and traverse on Babuyan islands and northern portions of Cagayan’s mainland, MARCE may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility region on Friday evening.
