The Peer Tutors Society (PTS) is an initiative under the Office of the Associate Dean of the College of Computer Studies (CCS). Established in 2002, it aims to select, train, qualify, and deploy a group of volunteer student tutors to conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for first- and second-year students. The subjects covered are courses related to math and computer studies.
The flagship activity of PTS aims to provide academic assistance to first-year and second-year students from all the colleges in the University. This academic assistance is in the form of one-on-one or group tutorial sessions that cover requested topics in math- and computer studies-related subjects.
This activity serves to select, qualify, and deploy a pool of students to conduct tutorial sessions. In this process, applicants are asked to accomplish a set of questions in an online form, participate in an interview, and demonstrate a mock tutorial session.
