NDAs: Copies of team NDAs can be found in your O365 Team folder.
If your team (or teams in your studio, or other teams you interact with) has an NDA, it is your responsibility to make sure you understand which information is confidential and to keep it that way.
Read more about NDAs here.
Shared folders and email lists: The SCOPE Office has set up team folders and requested permissions from IT for each member of your team as well as team email lists (your faculty advisor is on the team list). Jessica will notify teams when the folder permissions and email lists are set up. Location: \\fsvs01\SCOPE\SCOPE_Teams_2019-20.
Electronic Storage: All data on your team computer or other equipment should be backed up in your team folder at \\fsvs01\SCOPE\SCOPE_Teams_2019-20. This is the permanent, archival storage location of all SCOPE project information. Put all electronic documentation in this folder by the end of the year.
If your team is under NDA, you should only store team information on the SCOPE drive, not unsecure sites such as Google docs, unless you have explicit permission to do so from your liaison. If you cannot use unsecured cloud-based software, consider getting a license for a secured one (e.g. Jira, Share LaTeX, etc.)
How to Use the 'Secure Print' feature on Olin Printers: Select "Print" in you document → Select printer → Printer Properties → Job Type → select "Secure Print", create a passcode and hit “Print”. At the printer, press the Job Status button and you’ll see the secure print jobs. The job will be held until you enter the passcode on the printer.
Off-Campus Visitor Policy: Visitors (including your liaison) are not allowed to enter the project spaces.
Intellectual Property: The team works with their sponsor liaison and faculty advisor to develop an appropriate system to capture IP as needed. All SCOPE team files should be saved on the shared SCOPE drive.
NDAs can be found in the SCOPE Folder.
Rights to Photos, Videotape and Audio Recordings: Olin College or its agents own the rights to all SCOPE photos, recordings, videotapes, and audio tapes for public exhibition, including broadcast or webcast. It is understood that these recordings, whether made by Olin students, faculty, staff or others participating in SCOPE can be edited by Olin College for the uses described above at the discretion of the College. The College and its agents are not responsible for any claims or liabilities relating to use of these photos, videotapes and records or any exhibition. If you take photographs or make videos of non-Olin individuals that you will use in your SCOPE project, please have them fill out the appropriate release forms.
Formal team photos are located on the SCOPE shared drive in your team folder.
Computers: SCOPE has towers, monitors, keyboards, etc. for your team to use should they need them. Contact the SCOPE Office to sign these items out.
Telephones: If you would like a telephone for your SCOPE space, contact the SCOPE office.

Video conferencing:
If you would like to have a conference camera for your team, please ask Jessica McCarthy.
Team Space/Room Maintenance: Each project will be assigned a workspace in the Academic Center, the Large Project Building or other location. The SCOPE program provides appropriate computer resources to support the projects consistent with sponsor needs for confidentiality, security, integrity of the record of work and ability to do the project. All workspaces have a telephone to be used for SCOPE business only. The appropriate college policies regarding the use of the Information Technology network, systems and telephone system are in effect. All fabrication work and the use of any hazardous materials is to be conducted in the designated SCOPE project spaces or other authorized locations.
Team project rooms are used for team meetings, books, papers, reports, confidential documents and other project-related materials. All SCOPE documentation must be stored in the assigned team space. The policy for the maintenance of the team project rooms is identical to the residence life policy for students’ rooms.
Office supplies are provided by the SCOPE office. You shouldn't use your team budget for these items. Email Jessica McCarthy to request these supplies.
SCOPE Equipment: SCOPE owns various pieces of equipment that can be checked out and used for projects. Please consult with the SCOPE staff before requesting new equipment. This could save money from the team’s budget for other supplies.
Software: A list of tools that other SCOPE teams have found useful.
For Scrum:
Jira and Instructions for installing Jira and setting up a server.
Collaborative Editing Software:
OnlyOffice – basically a locally hosted google docs type editor. SUPER useful for team that can’t use cloud-editing tools.
Overleaf: an online LaTeX and Rich Text collaborative writing and publishing tool that makes the whole process of writing, editing and publishing scientific documents much quicker and easier.

An official process for requesting and tracking parts on the Robo Lab printers. This is to help us stay organized when we get a lot of orders at once and make sure parts are being printed as you want them to be (correct sizes, quantities, etc.)
For future parts please follow these steps:
1. Go to the Rapid Prototyping GitHub page: https://tinyurl.com/OlinRP. Here you can also find information on the different 3D-printers in the Robotics Lab.
2. Choose either the Stratasys or Markforged form and fill it out with the requested information. You’ll be uploading a single .STL assembly of your parts arranged as they will be printed on the build plate. Top priorities are (in order) SCOPE and research jobs, and these should be given an expected turnaround time of 5-7 days. Completed parts will be in the marked box outside of the Robotics Lab.
The document outlining the printing process for the Stratasys printers is attached HERE for your reference. If you have more questions feel free to contact Prof. David Barrett.
