Confidentiality

NDAs: Copies of team NDAs can be found in your O365 Team.

If your team (or other teams you interact with) has an NDA, it is your responsibility to make sure you understand which information is confidential and to keep it that way.

Read more about NDAs here.

Shared folders and email lists: The SCOPE Office has set up O365 Teams. Each team is populated with team members and faculty advisors. The team name is also the name for your mailing list in Outlook. You have a calendar that is associated with this Team as well.

Electronic Storage: All data should be backed up in your O365 Team. This is the permanent, archival storage location of all SCOPE project information. Put all electronic documentation in this folder by the end of the year.

If your team is under NDA, you should only store team information on the O365 Team, not unsecure sites such as Google docs, unless you have explicit permission to do so from your liaison. If you cannot use unsecured cloud-based software, consider getting a license for a secured one (e.g. Jira, Share LaTeX, etc.)

How to Use the 'Secure Print' feature on Olin Printers: Select "Print" in you document → Select printer → Printer Properties → Job Type → select "Secure Print", create a passcode and hit “Print”. At the printer, press the Job Status button and you’ll see the secure print jobs. The job will be held until you enter the passcode on the printer.

Off-Campus Visitor Policy: During the Fall of 2020, no visitors are allowed on the Olin campus.

Intellectual Property: The team works with their sponsor liaison and faculty advisor to develop an appropriate system to capture IP as needed. All SCOPE team files should be saved in the O365 Team.

Rights to Photos, Videotape and Audio Recordings: Olin College or its agents own the rights to all SCOPE photos, recordings, videotapes, and audio tapes for public exhibition, including broadcast or webcast. It is understood that these recordings, whether made by Olin students, faculty, staff or others participating in SCOPE can be edited by Olin College for the uses described above at the discretion of the College. The College and its agents are not responsible for any claims or liabilities relating to use of these photos, videotapes and records or any exhibition. If you take photographs or make videos of non-Olin individuals that you will use in your SCOPE project, please have them fill out the appropriate release forms.

Video Release Form

Robo Lab Printers

An official process for requesting and tracking parts on the Robo Lab printers. This is to help us stay organized when we get a lot of orders at once and make sure parts are being printed as you want them to be (correct sizes, quantities, etc.)

For future parts please follow these steps:

1. Go to the Rapid Prototyping GitHub page: https://tinyurl.com/OlinRP. Here you can also find information on the different 3D-printers in the Robotics Lab.

2. Choose either the Stratasys or Markforged form and fill it out with the requested information. You’ll be uploading a single .STL assembly of your parts arranged as they will be printed on the build plate. Top priorities are (in order) SCOPE and research jobs, and these should be given an expected turnaround time of 5-7 days. Completed parts will be in the marked box outside of the Robotics Lab.

The document outlining the printing process for the Stratasys printers is attached HERE for your reference. If you have more questions feel free to contact Prof. David Barrett.
