The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Unit is to recruit and train any deputies in the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office that are looking for specialties or certifications. It is our responsibility to ensure each deputy that goes through the Special Response Unit and the individual sub-division's are properly trained and knowledgeable on how we operate in the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office out in the field.
Special Response Unit (SRU) contains many different sub divisions within it Such as the Canine Unit, Traffic Safety Division, Air Unit, and our Marine Unit. These are very valuable sub-divisions within the Sheriff's Office. Each sub-division is an asset(s) to situations and incidents that occur when Deputies are on patrol this includes Search & Rescue, High-speed pursuits, Water rescue, and so on.
